    BASIL self propelled buoys

    In December 05, ACSA and GEOCEAN have demonstrated at sea the feasibility to accurately track underwater vehicles using 3 station keeping buoys (SKBs). The SKBs were remotely controlled from a shore station. This widens the use of GIB tracking systems to deep water applications. Each buoy, electrically propelled, weight 300 Kg and has an autonomy of 8 hours on site.
