New success for GIB-Lite in shallow water surveys In November 2004, a GIB-Lite system operated by FUGRO-TOPNAV has been used with much success in shallow water survey work. The system was used to track a diver swimming over 2 pipelines in bad visibility. This was in the direct vicinity of an oil production platform. Fixes taken along the pipelines have allowed to produce an accurate map in WGS-84 coordinates prior to arrival of a jack-up crane on site. Overall dive time did not exceed 1 hour.
