    GIB-Lite reaches decimetric accuracy

    In April 2006, Fugro-TopNav has evaluated GIB-Lite accuracy. The tests proved that GIB system accuracy was brought up to the centimetric level: the distance between two acoustic pingers simultaneously tracked by the GIB-Lite system, was measured with a standard deviation of 8 cm. This opens the possibility for using the GIB-Lite system in many offshore coastal applications.
